Course Description: For experienced powerboat helm's seeking to further their skills in Search and Rescue. The helm will become proficient in handling small to medium sized SRU's under the direction of the Coxswain. By the end of the course the succesful candidate will be proficient in pacing (coming alongside moving vessels), search patterns, PIW recovery, heavy weather handling and more!

Course Pre-requisites: Search and Rescue Helm, RYA Advanced Powerboat, RYA Yachtmaster Coastal (Power) Certificate of Competence or equivalent.
Canidates should also have knowledge up to the standard of RYA Dayskipper Shorebased or Caribbean Boatmaster Grade 2.
Course Type: Practical and Theory (Approx. 50% Practical)
Course Description: To be proficient and responsible for the safe navigation of an SRU, using the means available onboard the vessel. Electronic Navigation, Radar, AIS and chart skills are all put to the test on this challenging course. Candidates will learn a more in-depth view of search planning and coastal navigation, all to be applied under pressure!

Course Type: Practical and Theory (Approx. 80% Theory)
Course Description: A pre-requisite of the SAR-C and a reccomendation for the qualified SAR-NAV, candidates build upon their radio communication skills, to become proficient in communications specified in the IAMSAR Vol.3 as well as local polices and procedures. They will also develop a deeper understanding of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, delving into the various types of equipment used in distress and safety critical situations. Please note that this course is organisation specific.

Course Description: Experienced SAR Operators or those looking to step up from the Navigators role, will enjoy the challanges put forward by this course. Helming or navigating an SRU is very different from being in command of the vessel. This course draws on the differences, before developing the candidate's skill set to operate under pressure whilst thinking methodically. The prospective coxswain will be introduced to a myriad of scenarios and be expected to use SAR checkcards (provided) effectively by the end of this course

Course Type: Practical and Theory (Approx. 50% Practical)
Course Description: Unlike most first aid courses, it uses an aide-memoire check card system, which massively reduces stress and does not rely on memory during high-pressure situations. The check card system also allows the course material to be more advanced, leaving you equipped to treat more illnesses and injuries.
The course is accessible for beginners whilst also being relevant for medical professionals who wish to learn a system for casualty care that is thorough and methodical. It is taught by experienced SAR and Military professionals.

Course Aim: This course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Search and Rescue On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) for a Search and Rescue incident, as defined in the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and rescue Manual (IAMSAR), Volume III. Suitable for vessel masters, those delegated by a maritime administration (I.e. a Coastguard Agencies) and private Search and Rescue organisations. This course is compliant to IMO Model Course 3.15.

Course Pre-requisites: IAMSAR On-scene Coordinator (OSC) and candidate should be involved in coordination of SAR Operations on a regular basis in order to maintain competency.

Course Aim: This course provides specific training for those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator (SMC) at a maritime or joint rescue coordination centre or sub-centre for a Search and Rescue (SAR) incident and is based on the content of the 2019 edition of IAMSAR Manual Volume II. The course highlights SMC-relevant issues for the organization of a maritime SAR service in general, and assists States in meeting their own SAR needs, and the obligations they accepted under the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue, 1979, as amended, together with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974, as amended. This course is compliant to IMO Model Course 3.14.

Course Description: Mass Rescue Operations (MRO) can be defined as any rescue requiring additional resources beyond that of the 'normal' operating standards. This course will assist those responsible for MRO planning, (Such as SAR Organisations, Government Agencies, Port Authorities, Etc) in understanding what is required of them/their organisation, as well lay the foundations in developing their own MRO plan.
