About the CMSA

Our Aims and Objectives...

The sole mission of the Association is to promote and increase maritime safety, maritime security and water safety awareness across the Caribbean Region.  


 

This will be attained through:


  • Education and Educational Programmes.


  • Training and Certification.


  • Advocacy and Lobbying.


  • Collaboration with the Government(s), non-government organisations and private companies/operators. 


  • Sourcing and Supplying Water Safety Equipment; and


  • Community Engagement and Partnerships.

  • Increase the provision and standard of Search and Rescue across the Caribbean region.


  • Increase the provision and standard of Maritime Security across the Caribbean region.


  • Increase the ability of the general population to be safer in and around the ocean, sea and/or large bodies of water, including the ability to swim. 


  • Develop, deliver and regularly review Qualifications and Awards to assist organisations and individuals to contribute to and/or advance maritime safety and/or maritime security; and to


  • Increase the awareness of water safety and the use of water safety equipment for water users across the Caribbean region.

The Caribbean Maritime Safety Association is a non-profit organisation that services the Caribbean Region. 


Established as a direct result of the need for standardised, regulated and high-quality training and progressive development in the fields of Maritime Safety, Maritime Security and Water Safety Awareness including the provision of accessible swimming classes.


The Association is run by a dedicated team of directors and volunteers, who dedicate their time to undertaking the association's mission.

 The association accepts members from both individuals and organisation with an interest in the maritime industry, or with an interest in supporting our mission.
